"Art & Culture "When you think of Bonn, you think of music. A visit to the Beethoven house where Ludwig van Beethoven was born in 1770 is therefore a must to all visitors of this fair city. It is here where a vast collection of his works are kept. The Beethoven house is situated in the city centre in walking distance to other museums like the Egyptian Museum, the Rheinische Landesmuseum Bonn and the Stadtmuseum Bonn. Along what is known as the museum mile you will find the Kunstmuseum Bonn and the Haus der Geschichte, both museums have developed into major attractions. Further art galleries like the August Macke house are to be found in the north of Bonn where they have formed an art association. In the different museum halls in 2010 will be frequently varying exhibitions take place. Actually until 3rd of October 2010: Afghanistan. Surviving Treasures. A selected Collection of the National Museum of Afghanistan. For the first time in Germany, the Art and Exhibition Hall presents Afghanistan's legendary national treasure which almost miraculously survived years of civil war and destruction. |
